Becoming a Permanency Warrior: Kinship Center So CA Leader Featured at Regional Conference

On Saturday, April 14, Kinship Center Division Director Allison Maxon, LMFT will be the featured speaker at the 2012 CASA Conference "Becoming a Permanency Warrior."

The conference, held at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, CA, will show several hundred participants how permanency is a psychological and legal mandate for children, critical to their future ability to build and sustain meaningful relationships in life.

Maxon is a clinician, educator, and advocate specializing in adoption/permanency, attachment, and trauma. She has presented in state and national settings on creating systems of care that are permanency competent, including a Georgetown University national symposium, and the 2012 Child Welfare League of America national conference. Maxon is author or co-author of Kinship Center curricula on permanency and children's mental health, and author of a Kinship Center white paper "The Dance of Permanence."
