Kinship Center’s Founder and Executive Director, Carol Bishop, is one of six professional recipients of the Children’s Bureau Adoption Excellence Award presented by the Director of the Children’s Bureau in Washington D.C. on Nov. 13, 2018.

This award is given in recognition of outstanding accomplishments in permanency, honoring contributions made to increase the number of children who are adopted from foster care. In her 54 years in Child Welfare, Carol has positively affected the lives of thousands of children, youth and adoptive families by developing and advocating for best practices throughout the field.

“After nearly four decades of her life dedicated to helping unwanted children and creating families, we are so humbled and proud of the acknowledgement of Carol Bishop with this award,” Jeff Davi, Kinship Center leadership board Chair, said in a congratulatory message to Bishop.

Along with Bishop, Sean Anders, Director and Co-Writer of the film Instant Family, received an Adoption of Excellence Award as well. The film was inspired by Anders’ personal story adopting three children through Kinship Center.
