Kinship Center Expert Team Shares Clinical Model at CWLA National Conference

Making Children a Priority: Leading Change

Change is the theme of the Child Welfare League of America's National Conference in Washington D.C. on February 26-29, 2012. The conference is a focus on the CWLA's efforts to improve our nation's economic capacity to support America's vulnerable children...from cradle to career. Conference sessions will outline strategies for organizations to thrive despite the changing landscape and economic challenges.

Two presenters from Kinship Center will discuss Kinship Center's statewide Model for Post-Permanency Support and Training in an interactive workshop entitled "If Not Now...When?" Laura Ornelas, LCSW and Allison Maxon, LMFT will discuss the specialized training that parents and professionals need in treating traumatized children and will introduce Kinship Center's signature ACT and Pathways to Permanence curricula.

"It's exciting to take our model for permanency-focused, strength-based services to this national stage," says Maxon. "And we appreciate the opportunity to collaborate and see what else is happening in the field."
