Mattress Company OkiOki donated 200 mattresses to Kinship Center/Seneca Family of Agencies—a gesture more impactful than one may think. Take for example this testimonial from one grateful family's social worker:

"A twin mattress went to a home in which a 16-year-old girl was joining the family. After countless moves and more than 8 years in foster care and group home placement, this teen felt valued and saw being welcomed with a brand new bed as a sign of commitment from the new family, who wants to be her permanent family. After insisting that "anything would be fine," she finally picked out new bedding in her favorite color. She seemed surprised—and shyly pleased—when her new parents made the bed for her. She had been so used to having to do everything for herself. She laid on the bed, stroking the family's cat, dreaming up ideas of how she will decorate her room and daring to dream of the possibilities that lie ahead for her. Thank you so much for donating the mattress to this family. The value goes far beyond the practicalities of having a place to sleep. It has been a very tangible part of saying, 'Welcome home.'"
