Kinship Center’s Fifth Annual Harvest Moon Festival on October 20, 2012 was a magical evening of the finest wine, food, and entertainment in the region. Held at Kinship Center’s facility nestled in the Santa Lucia foothills on River Road in Salinas, the annual event is a unique blend of sophistication and down home fun under the harvest moon.

Guests savored the best of the area’s vintners, restaurateurs and merchants, enjoyed the lively stylings of the Monterey Jazz Festival All Star High School Combo, bid on a wonderful array of auction items and enjoyed the Central Coast’s favorite Master of Ceremonies KSBW News Anchor Dan Green.

This year’s program highlighted Kinship Center’s Family Ties Program which focuses on helping relative caregivers care for their relative children.  The climax of the event came with the stellar singing performance by 10 year old Logan Thorstenson who serenaded his Grandmother Debbie Wikoff, and rest of the crowd with a touching rendition of 'Over the Rainbow' and an encore performance showing off his Italian.

We wish to send a special thank you to all those who attended, the event sponsors, restaurateurs, vintners, the Monterey Beer Festival and Southern Wine & Spirits as well as everyone who donated such wonderful auction items!  All proceeds from Harvest Moon directly support Kinship Center’s services.
