"From Place to Place": Kinship Center Hosts 2nd Sneak Preview
…changing the system that raised them…
Mandy and Raif are two teenagers who spent their childhoods in the public foster care system until they “aged out” at 18 and began the struggle to make it on their own.
On Monday, May 9, Kinship Center hosted another free preview of the documentary “From Place to Place: The Movie” by Porch Productions, which chronicles two years in the lives of these determined kids and a crusading social worker, and how they found voices strong enough to impact the system that raised them. The free screening was held at Kinship Center’s Tustin facility, in Orange County, CA.
Porch Productions and Matt Anderson, one of the creator/producers of the documentary, have also created Community Forums to build awareness about the plight of youth in foster care and to create an opportunity for change. Individuals and organizations are invited to organize local forums by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org comments powered by Disqus
