FAQs

Assistance for grandparents raising grandchildren varies depending on where you live. California has a network of Kinship Support Services Programs throughout the state, funded by the State, and administered by different counties or private agencies, to assist grandparents and other relatives with any number of services. These may include, but are not limited to, resource and referral, support groups and parent education, minimal financial support for emergencies, help with guardianship, and other supportive services to enable relatives to continue to care for their kin children. Other states may have similar programs, but they will vary from state to state. Click here for information on Kinship Center’s support programs for adults caring for young relatives.
