FAQs

Thousands of children in California's foster care system require temporary out-of-home care because of parental neglect, abuse or exploitation. Many of these children have special medical, developmental, mental, or emotional needs. In order to meet these needs, foster parents are required to attend specialized training prior to being licensed.  Kinship Center provides this training and assists in matching children with foster parents by determining the type of child best suited for their home (i.e., age, health issues, and gender).  In addition, Kinship Center offers post-adoption mental health support to increase permanency.
