What issues do foster and adopted children often have?
Children enter the foster care system due to different forms of abuse and neglect, and the absence or death of their parent(s). Exposure to any of these occurrences is likely to impact the children in a variety of ways. Research has indicated many of the children in foster care exhibit Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression, attention deficit disorder with or without hyperactivity, attachment issues, and anxiety. Kinship Center has mental health facilities and services for children and families throughout California. For more information, click here.
