Solorio Elementary School 2nd Graders Donate Book Fair Proceeds to Kinship Center

Fontana, CA

Sherry Gimple, Family Recruiter for Kinship Center Southern California, spent the most amazing morning on December 13th, with Miss Kerry Hackman’s second grade class from Solorio Elementary School. This year, Miss Hackman and her students wanted to help children in foster Care. they went to Kinship Center’s website and chose our agency to be the recipients of proceeds from a book drive. The class asked all the families at Solorio Elementary to bring in books for the sale, ending up with a total of over 800 books donated! On December 13th, Sherry visited the class and learned about all the hard work the children did to organize and run the book sale.  She spoke to the students about adoption, and remarked that they had the most amazing questions, and they all enjoyed sharing with her about the people they know who are adopted. The book drive was successful, and Kinship Center will be able to use this money for our children and families that are in need of support and services!

Thanks to Miss Hackman’s second grade class:
